which has a long-standing history in the sport of indoor soccer, most recently with the Rochester Lancers whocompetedinboththeMASLandMASL2.ManyLancers –whoaretakingtheyearoffandwho advancedtotheMASL2finalslastyear– aresuitingupforRocCityin2024-25,andtheirexperience showed as Rochester gave the Samba (2-1) their first loss of the season. The Boom lowered, uh, the boom early, taking a 9-1 lead after two quarters and then poured it on from there. Rafa Godoi had a big night with four goals and three assists. Eduardo Figueroa had three goals and one assist while Jameson Railey and Alex Harling had two goals and one assist each. Scoring two goals each were Mitch Brickman, Dan Reger and Taner Bay. Jakeb Mitchell, who led MASL 2 in goals against average last year, allowed just one goal in his 49 minutes of action to get the win. Merouane Sadji, Zack Kern, Bobby Daggett and George Cottenden were the Samba scorers. For 2024-25, Rochester has scored 124 goals in six games, well ahead of the second best scoring team in the league, the OKC Certified Lions, who have 83 goals in seven games. Rochester's goal differential of plus 98 is also easily tops in the league. (Second is Valhalla FC with a plus 40.) Railey lead the Boom offense with 18 goals and nine assists. For different Rochester players have scored 11 or more goals so far this winter. For Cleveland, Michael Schmid is the leading goal scored with 10 while Sadji leads the team in points with 16 on eight goals and eight assists.
