Boom go for M3 National Championship this Weekend

TAMPA, Florida -- Five teams will be looking for their first ever Major Arena Soccer League 3 championship this weekend. One will be looking to remain as the only team ever to win a MASL 3 title.

Northern Virginia -- the three-time defending league champions -- squeezed their way into the postseason on the final weekend of the regular season with a one-goal win over Baltimore in the Atlantic Division's play-in tournament. Meanwhile, RGV defeated Houston in Brownsville, 6-2, to overtake the Bolt for first place in the South, and earning a spot in this weekend's playoffs in Salisbury, Maryland, home of the MASL 2 Salisbury Steaks.

Friday's quarterfinals action will pit the OKC Certified Lions (No. 6 seed) against Valhalla FC (No. 3 seed) in a 4:30 p.m. EDT kickoff. In the 7:30 p.m. matchup, RGV (No. 5)  will meet Northern Virginia (No. 4).

All MASL 2 playoff games will be broadcast live on the Delaware Sports Network.

Saturday's semifinals will feature. Kalamazoo (No. 2) against the highest remaining seeded team at 12 noon, followed by a 3 p.m. start for the Roc City Boom (No. 1 seed) against the lowest remaining seed.

Sunday's championship game will kick off at 12 noon.
