Playing their 3nd road game in a row, the Roc City Boom fell to I-90 rivals Syracuse FC 2-1 at Accelerate Sports.
The game started off with possession being shared, but in the 28th minute the Boom were unlucky to concede an own goal, putting the home side up 1-0.
The Boom replied right before halftime, with Cunyet Vardar scoring off a throw in from Bryce Ikeda to level the score at 1-1 going into the half.
Owen Bauer put Syracuse up again in the 75th minute on an assist by Francesco Pagano, giving Syracuse a 2-1 lead.
Roc City was unable to find an equalizer and the game ended in a 2-1 win for Syracuse FC.
The Boom move to 0-1-2 and Syracuse improve to 2-2. The two teams meet on 8/1 at 7:30pm, in Rochester's home opener at the Rochester Community Sports Complex, formerly Marina Auto Stadium.
