ROCHESTER, NY -- The Roc City Boom began their 2021 campaign with a dominant 5-0 win over South Jeff FC.

Witman Hernandez was involved in the first two goals as he scored the opening goal 10 minutes into the game off an assist from Peter DiLorenzo. Hernandez returned the favor just four minutes later as he assisted DiLorenzo on a beautifully slipped through ball. DiLorenzo added another goal in the 40th minute.
At halftime, The Boom held the shot advantage 4-1.

In the second half South Jeff came out fast as Samtu Palouki found a loose ball that ended up on his foot inside six yards of the goal. Roc City goalkeeper, Stewart Frank, came up with a big stop to deny Palouki a goal.

Second half substitute Josiah Fragnito slotted an excellently timed through ball from Aaron Harrison past Julian Vivas’ outstretched right boot and extended The Boom’s lead to 4-0 in the 78th minute.

Hernandez picked up the only booking of the game when he got a yellow with just over ten minutes to play.

Hernandez settled a chipped ball from Brady Dickens, dribbled past the South Jeff defense exquisitely and fired a shot that pinballed around the goal mouth before finding Fragnito who calmly tapped him his second and Roc City’s fifth goal of the game.

Peter Dilorenzo was named Man of the Match after scoring a brace and adding an assist. The Boom return to action at home on May 2nd at 4:30pm against Krajisnik FC. The Boom B will play at 1:30pm vs Krajišnik B as part of our 1st of 4 double header Sundays.
