ROCHESTER, NY -- Roc City Boom continued their successful start to the 2021 Season with a commanding 4-0 victory over Krajisnik FC.

Both teams had a slow start and couldn't create any formidable attacks in the first half. The only action came in the 42nd minute as Mitch Brickman picked up a yellow card for an unruly challenge. At halftime, the shots were level at two a piece.

The Boom came out hot in the second half as Matthew Stefaniw slotted home his first goal of the year on a through ball from Peter DiLorenzo.

DiLorenzo wasn't done yet as he scored on a rebound off a Konrad Zydowicz free-kick that rattled the left post. The ball fell right to DiLorenzo who made no mistake and increased The Boom’s lead to two. Both goals came inside the first five minutes of second half action.

In the 55th minute, Cuelkovic of Krajisnik FC picked up his first yellow of the game. Shortly after, Cuelkovic couldn’t escape his second yellow after he clattered into DiLorenzo as Krajisnik FC was forced to play with 10 men for the remainder of the match.

Roc City took full advantage of the extra man and won a penalty when a flicked header from Stefaniw struck the hand of Krajisnik’s Bakalovic inside the penalty area. Zydowicz struck the penalty into the goalkeepers path but finished his own rebound to extend the lead to three.

In the 81st minute, Zydowicz struck a whipping corner kick straight into the side netting and all but sealed the Roc City victory.
Connor Halsted finished the match with two saves.

The Boom held the shot advantage 10-4.

Second half substitute, Konrad Zydowicz, won Man of the Match with two goals and an assist.

The Boom return to play May 12th against Greater Binghamton FC at Visions Field.
